I love adding mini sessions to my schedule! And this year there are three fun additions!
Mini sessions are a smaller version of a session. They are a styled session with normally one setup.
An announcement will be posted on our Facebook page a month before each scheduled mini session. This is when the dates will be open for reserving your spot on a first come first serve basis. Once all the times have been filled, the mini session scheduling will be closed. If you miss out and are not able to reserve a spot for a mini session, you may still schedule a regular portrait session for another date and use the mini session backdrops and props as well as any others but it will not be at the special mini session price. Easter and Christmas sessions are the most popular and tend to fill quickly.
Thank you to everyone who loves and books these sessions. I hope that the new added sessions are just as fun!

As I look back on all of the sessions I've done this past year, I realize how blessed I am. I have the most amazing clients! If it weren't for you all, I couldn't do what I love to do!
Thank you all for your love and support during 2017!
I have been somewhat neglecting the blog lately. We have been so busy here at Reflections by Ruby Photography the past few months. And that makes me so happy! :) But things are slowly quieting down around here and we will be spending the last few days of 2017 with our family and kiddos.
With my crazy schedule, I didn't get to share any of our Christmas Mini sessions on the blog. This year, I had decided to take a different route with our Christmas sessions and only offered studio sessions. I felt like I was exhausting most of the outside portrait locations here at the studio for our regular clients and I wanted to try something new. I purchased a larger backdrop from a new company, so I could offer both child and family sessions in studio, and I was completely blown away with the quality of the drop. I loved it and so did all of my clients!
We had 56 kiddos here at the studio and 30 families total for Christmas mini's this year! I truly didn't believe I would ever have that much of a response. I am so incredibly blessed with the best clients!
A bit late, but here are just a few of those Christmas Mini's.
I met this couple about a month before their wedding day, during their engagement session. They are the cutest couple! I love the smiles that they shared together then and all of the one's during their wedding day. Their smiles are so genuine and speak so much love to one another.
The day was not a sunny day as most would have it, in fact it rained nearly all day. But the day was perfect none the less. I overheard the bride's father saying how perfect it was that the ceremony and reception were held in the same place, so no one had to go out in the weather. He was absolutely right!
The bride and her bridesmaids got their hair done by the same lady who had done the brides hair for every important event and every high school dance. So it was only natural that Lisa would be the one who would do her hair for her wedding. The girls looked so beautiful!
Cassie's dress was gorgeous with so much detailing. I loved that she wore her great grandmother's necklace for her wedding. The ceremony site was perfectly decorated and the bouquet's were amazing! There were laughs during the toasts and tears during the father/daughter dance. The day was absolutely perfect.
I am so happy for them and for the chance to get to know them and share a small part of their special day.
I am grateful that I there to capture this moment as the girls prayed together before heading off to the ceremony. Such a special moment to remember.
Kristen and Darton are such an adorable couple. I had so much fun during their engagement session last year getting to know both of them. Darton has such a great sense of humor and Kristen is so easy going with such a bright attitude.
The morning of their wedding we all knew the weather wasn't looking the greatest, with rain and cold temperatures on the way. But Kristen said that maybe it was suppose to rain on their wedding day. Because on her mom and dad's wedding day and Darton's mom and dad's wedding day, it rained. A sign of good luck. That's Kristen, making the best of a situation that other people might not handle so well. She didn't even mind braving the cold damp weather for a few images under the roof outside.
Despite the rain, the wedding was beautiful. I loved Kristen's dress and the colors the bridesmaids wore were gorgeous. I also loved that they served pie instead of cake!
There were so many sweet, tender moments during the day. I especially loved the speech Darton's father gave, it had me in tears. These two are so blessed with such loving and supportive families. I wish them a lifetime of happiness together!
I first met this couple at their engagement session (over a year ago!). They were so much fun so I knew that their wedding day was going to be memorable.
The bride and groom were married on a gorgeous fall day in a country church with the most perfect scenery all around it! We even got the neighbors permission to photograph next to their barn! I loved that their dog, Dozer, got to be part of the ceremony and celebration.
Everything about their wedding day was perfect! I'm so happy for them!

Reception Venue: Kinton's Knob

Flowers: Made by a friend of the Bride and Groom
Country weddings are so beautiful. I loved everything about this one! It was our first wedding that we got to photograph in an actual barn, I loved it!
The couple chose to get married on the brides family's farm in the most quaint barn surrounded by their closest family and friends. The bride wore a stunning sleeved gown and cowgirl boots. Her mother put together a beautiful, fresh bouquet for her the morning of the wedding. The details and all of the decorations in the barn and at the reception were amazing. My favorites were the flannel tops the bridal party wore as they were getting ready, the wooden ring box that the brides niece carried in her basket, the bride's garter with a cowgirl boots and hat charm, and the aisle runner with the sweetest words written on it just for the father of the bride.
There were many memorable moments during the day and I am so happy that we got to be a part of it and share all of these special memories for them! Here are a few of those beautiful moments.
Love the detailing in this dress!
The bride's father, seeing the aisle runner for the first time!
Love her smile!

This couple is so adorable together. I just love the sweet, tender moments they shared during their wedding day. The bride looked stunning and was surrounded by her family and best friends as she prepared for the ceremony. There were many heartfelt details during the day that brought out a few tears. I love how the groom's son played a part in the unity ceremony. It was very touching to see them forming a bond and unifying them as one family. I couldn't be happier for this couple. I wish them many blessings together.
Here is a tiny peek into this session, taken on their family's farm with beautiful mountain views. I love the ornery looks of the two cousins. I can definitely see them getting into lots of little boy mischief together.
I am in love with this engagement session. The evening light was so beautiful, casting such warm colors on the fields and trees. We chose to photograph their session on her family's farm. It was such a great location with so many photo opportunities. Even her dog and the cows joined us for a few pictures. :)
These two make such a cute couple. I loved seeing and capturing their true smiles and laughs during the session.
