Happy 2nd Birthday to this little guy!
Finally after rescheduling this handsome little man's session because of rain, we were able to get a sunny morning for his birthday session. I just love the location his momma picked out! And his little train conductor outfit was perfect! He is the sweetest thing. I cant believe he is two already! It seems like yesterday he was in the studio for his newborn pictures.
Liam was such a sweetheart for his first photo session, at just 6 days old. Born into a family of firefighters, it was only fitting that we incorporate that into the session. This little guy is so loved!
I never thought that my husband and I would spend our wedding anniversary photographing a wedding! But I am so glad we did!
Leah and Josh are such a beautiful couple! They are so easy going, fun to be around, and perfect together. They are so lucky and blessed to have each other and a wonderful loving, family.
Their wedding day was absolutely perfect! Even though we could hear and see storms around us, the rain held off! The venue was elegant and had beautiful scenery for the couple's images. The message during the ceremony, which was performed by a close friend of the bride and groom, was touching. There were laughs and tears during the toasts and many heartfelt moments during the entire day.
I wish them a lifetime full of love and happiness together!
This little beauty did so well for her newborn session. It was such a pleasure getting to know her parents. When the mom said she was their rainbow baby, I wanted to try something different. I love when I envision something, create it and the result is perfect. She is such an angel and I hope that her family treasures these images always.
I have known Louise for a few years but hadn't had the opportunity to actually get to know her personally until her engagement session last September. She is one of the sweetest and kindest people you will ever meet. I am so happy for her and Karl! And I am so glad I was able to photograph their wedding day.
Their spring, country wedding was beautiful, complete with sunflower bouquets and cowgirl boots. After the ceremony we headed to her family's farm where she had the most beautiful spot picked out for her bridal party photos. Acres of green fields, pasture and their barns as a backdrop. They also had her Granddaddy's tractors brought over to use in the pictures.
The reception was held at one of my favorite venues. I loved the ideas and decorations they incorporated into their country theme. The milk and chocolate milk refreshments included with their cookie buffet was a perfect addition, especially since her family owns a dairy farm.
Enjoy a few of my favorites from this beautiful spring wedding!
This family was such a joy to photograph. Even though the sun felt warm, the air was still super chilly. But they were good sports! We even got some play time in at the end of the session and some genuine smiles from the littlest member of the family.
Raise your hand if you had that one grandparent or great grandparent who, when you walk into their living room had at least one wall covered in family pictures.....Are you smiling to yourself remembering it? I know I am!
When any of my grandparents pull out those old photo albums, I can just sit for hours looking through them, pulling out pictures with illegible handwriting on the back of them, asking who everyone is and trying to recognize family who have passed on many years ago. And it's not just me! It's my kids too!
There is just something about being in the moment, curling up on the couch with a photo album on your lap or everyone sitting at the kitchen table pouring through these memories together.
Don't get me wrong, the digital world is amazing! We've come leaps and bounds since the days of 35mm film. We can take and share digital images with just few simple clicks of a button or swipe of a screen. But how many of those images do you actually have a physical print of? My guess....Not many. I'm very guilty of this!
Technology is forever changing. From floppy disks, to CD's, to USB's. Gone away are floppy disks and most computers do not even come equipped with a CD drive anymore. If you think about it, the only pictures you will leave your children or grandchildren with might be stored on a medium that they can't even easily access. How then will they share these memories with other generations?
Having a tangible picture in print, is one of the most meaningful ways that you can enjoy photography.
A picture isn't just a picture....It tells a story. A story of how you lived, where you came from, how you felt, how you loved. You aren't capturing a moment and preserving the moment for today, but instead for tomorrow, for your children and your children's children. Passing down memories of your story.
Because this is important to me and hopefully to others. I want to make the memories I capture for you easy and convenient for you to print. To share with your loved ones now and many years from now.
With every online gallery there will be the option to conveniently order prints directly from your gallery.
You will still be able to download your digital images and have the choice to print them anywhere you'd like. But I also wanted to add this feature to make printing easier for you!
Thank you to those who took the time to read this post!
I love adding mini sessions to my schedule! And this year there are three fun additions!
Mini sessions are a smaller version of a session. They are a styled session with normally one setup.
An announcement will be posted on our Facebook page a month before each scheduled mini session. This is when the dates will be open for reserving your spot on a first come first serve basis. Once all the times have been filled, the mini session scheduling will be closed. If you miss out and are not able to reserve a spot for a mini session, you may still schedule a regular portrait session for another date and use the mini session backdrops and props as well as any others but it will not be at the special mini session price. Easter and Christmas sessions are the most popular and tend to fill quickly.
Thank you to everyone who loves and books these sessions. I hope that the new added sessions are just as fun!
2018 Mini Session Tentative Schedule :
February 17th and 18th : Glitter Mini Sessions (studio)
March 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th: Easter Mini Sessions (studio)
May 19th & 20th : Baseball Mini Sessions (outdoor at local ball field-to be determined)
July 13th and 14th: Farmers Market Mini Sessions (outdoor)
November 1st - 17th - Family and Child -Christmas Mini Sessions (studio)
November 11th - Family and Child - Christmas Mini Session (outdoor- location: to be determined)
As I look back on all of the sessions I've done this past year, I realize how blessed I am. I have the most amazing clients! If it weren't for you all, I couldn't do what I love to do!
Thank you all for your love and support during 2017!
I have been somewhat neglecting the blog lately. We have been so busy here at Reflections by Ruby Photography the past few months. And that makes me so happy! :) But things are slowly quieting down around here and we will be spending the last few days of 2017 with our family and kiddos.
With my crazy schedule, I didn't get to share any of our Christmas Mini sessions on the blog. This year, I had decided to take a different route with our Christmas sessions and only offered studio sessions. I felt like I was exhausting most of the outside portrait locations here at the studio for our regular clients and I wanted to try something new. I purchased a larger backdrop from a new company, so I could offer both child and family sessions in studio, and I was completely blown away with the quality of the drop. I loved it and so did all of my clients!
We had 56 kiddos here at the studio and 30 families total for Christmas mini's this year! I truly didn't believe I would ever have that much of a response. I am so incredibly blessed with the best clients!
A bit late, but here are just a few of those Christmas Mini's.
